Holt CAT is seeking a Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician for its Irving, Texas location. The Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician performs complex maintenance services to Company facilities in the DFW region. This position is also responsible for maintaining repair costs, reporting the status of the facilities maintenance request, diagnosing needed repairs, leading projects, and task assignments, and performing facilities repair services. This role also provides effective mentoring to other Facilities Maintenance Technicians while acting as a liaison between them and the Facilities Manager. Must be willing to travel with company vehicle in the north Texas region. Some overnight travel may be required.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs complex maintenance, repairs, and upgrading of facilities and grounds, including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC. Assures all work is completed safely, on schedule, and according to specification
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report the ongoing status of facilities, buildings, and equipment to ensure that they meet or exceed operational requirements
  • Determine timely, efficient, and cost-effective maintenance methods to ensure alignment with organizational needs
  • Manage and monitor project costs by auditing invoices in an effort to meet budgetary guidelines
  • Negotiate and communicate with contractors and vendors regarding service requirements, costs, etc.
  • Provide support and services to Business Units to accomplish their objectives on projects and activities
  • Receives and completes work orders while maintaining accurate records on material and labor used
  • Inspect work to ensure the jobs are completed and areas are clean
  • Team up with building principals and supervisors to complete projects
  • Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Plumbing-must be able to troubleshoot, repair, install faucets, toilets, water heaters, solder copper pipping, and clear minor stoppages
  • Electrical-must be able to troubleshoot and repair minor electrical issues. Able to change ballasts, and lighting fixtures or replace entire fixtures.
  • Minor construction work required
  • Painting to include patching drywall, installing drywall, along with taping and texturing
  • HVAC-Able to make minor repairs to HVAC units, change out air filters, and clean coil units.
  • Able to use various Maintenance Management Programs
  • Knowledge of operating scaffolding, ladders, boom lifts, and scissor lift
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in the field working on and troubleshooting complex mechanical repairs
  • Knowledge of safety procedures as they relate to the general maintenance operations
  • Knowledge of estimating, planning, and controlling the cost of repair jobs
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in the mechanical repair
  • Proficient in current computer software including computerized maintenance management system for work order processing, related hardware, and machine electronic systems
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

Education and Experience:

  • 10 or more years of experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must have a safe driving record
  • Facility Maintenance certifications preferred

Travel:

  • Up to 50% of travel, including overnight, may be expected
