The Lead Carpenter position is a " bags on" position. You will not only act as the job supervisor responsible for directing and verifying that tasks assigned to carpenters, laborers, and subcontractors are completed, but you will also perform many of the necessary job tasks side by side with your crew. The Lead Carpenter works directly with our production and administrative teams, as well as with the project architects and designers to build one-of-a-kind projects.
- Read and interpret sketches, blueprints, and drawings.
- Lead by example and instruct a labor team of 1 - 4 teammates for all phases of the project from demolition ot finish to Carpentry.
- Maintain a clean, secure, and safe job site.
- Clean up the job site and ensure all equipment is properly secured for the night.
- Work with Project Managers to maintain the project schedule, material ordering, subcontractor scheduling, etc.
- Oversee the work of all trades on-site to ensure the company standard of quality is maintained.
- Provide effective solutions to issues and challenges presented by the project.
- Be committed to providing high attention to the fine details in all project finishes, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Other construction-related duties as required to meet client and business needs.
- Utilize Project management software provided to best track and document the project.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ yrs preferred (a minimum of 3+ years ) of general contractor/construction experience.
- Reliable Transportation.
- Positive Attitude.
- Good communication skills.
- Proficient knowledge of hand and power tools needed and used for rough and finish carpentry etc.
- Experience in framing, trim carpentry, concrete work and basic electrical and plumbing.
- Experience in web-based construction Management software is a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Other experience is welcome (heavy machinery, cabinetry, architecture & design, etc.)
- High school level of education.
SALARY:
- This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
- Pay is $55,000 - $72,000 / per year - paid on an hourly basis and commensurate with experience.
