Husk is a Portland-based general contractor focused on mid-to-high end residential exteriors – including decks, siding, patios and covers, timber frame structures, outbuildings, masonry, & more. It’s fun work filled with variety, creativity & problem solving.
We’re looking for a talented & experienced Carpenter to lead a small crew on all types of exterior building projects.

As a lead Carpenter at Husk, on any given day you might…
- Help evaluate & plan new projects
- Coordinate people, materials & equipment
- Direct carpenters & helpers & build great stuff
- Support other teams with work within and outside of your specialty
Must have:
- Positive attitude & strong work ethic
- People skills - you will meet clients, talk to suppliers, etc.
- Good with tools of all kinds
- Be able to carry materials up to 80lbs & climb ladders & scaffold
- Enjoy being outside (almost all of our work is outside, year round)
- Like to learn & try new things
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation (able to commute to Milwaukie & around the PDX area) & have your own basic hand tools. We provide a lot, but you will still need your own kit.
