LEAD BARTENDER - The George at Fairmont Olympic

The Lead Bartender will work in all aspects of the beverage service & exemplify the venue’s personality & soul. They will lead a team of several passionate bartenders, uphold & curate the cocktail program, and be a pillar for quality & consistency. Opened in 2022 within the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, The George has been envisioned to become a top-tier international dining destination. The Lead Bartender should possess a worldly mindset & a strong spirit of conquest.

What you will be doing:

  • Rotate between working behind the bar & tailoring a bespoke cocktail experience on the floor in a high-volume prestigious cocktail environment
  • Adhere to Fairmont Olympic Hotel service standards
  • Strive to create a memorable experience and the “Grandest of Feelings” for all guests; Ensure an elevated personal experience for VIP guests
  • Ensure service standards and individual performances are aligned with AccorHotels Values – Guest Passion, Trust, Sustainable Performance, Spirit of Conquest, Innovation and Respect.
  • Be the face of Founder’s Club on certain promotional/media outlets
  • Continuously work on improving product knowledge & technique, sharing knowledge with the team
  • Commit to one Admin/Prep Day per week (or as needed based on business volume)
  • Contribute to Menu creation & staff training
  • Perform opening and/or closing duties
  • Maintain quality & consistency of the beverage program
  • Ability to suggest coaching & disciplinary action for other Bartenders
  • Control inventory of glassware, bar tools, dry-goods etc.
  • Perform End-of-Month beverage inventory
  • Fill out requisitions at the end of each shift to receive goods the following day
  • Ensure cleanliness, health & safety protocols, and EcoSure standards are always met
  • Perform other duties assigned by manager. IE. Administrative duties, assisting in all aspects of the operation.

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum 2 years bartender experience in a craft cocktail bar; preferably in a lead-bartender role
  • Strong classic cocktail & spirits knowledge
  • Cocktail competition experience is considered an asset
  • WSET certification is considered an asset
  • Managerial experience is considered an asset
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Self-driven & passionate
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Must hold valid authorization to work in the US
  • Food Handlers Card and MAST permit required
  • Must be willing to take risks, be creative and be humble.
