Mama Margie’s in Schertz is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Afternoon Shift Manager.

Mama Margie’s Shift Managers must be passionate about serving great tasting fresh Mexican food, insisting on continued sales growth resulting from great homemade food and fast service! Shift Managers must have the desire and ability to make a difference in our operations by continually working towards improving food quality, increasing sales, improving customer service, and controlling food cost. You must be able to inspire all employees and subordinate managers on your shift to perform at a higher level through training, strategy, and motivation. Additionally, this passion must include compliance with all company procedures and compliance with all laws and regulations.

As Shift Manager, you will report directly to the Assistant GM and Owner GM.

You will work to ensure proper and adequate employee hiring and onboarding, recruiting and retention of employees (including holding employees accountable for attendance and disciplining as per company policy).

You will ensure compliance with company standards regarding employee and customer safety, computer and IT integrity, and inventory control; and all areas of operation including compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

You will have responsibility and oversee those proper procedures are followed by subordinate managers for bank deposits, completing accurate daily paperwork, completing employee onboarding paperwork, required employee training, required compliance checklist items (for example temperature checks) and other duties as required or assigned.

You must promote an environment of teamwork on your shift, and also between all 3 shifts.

You must be dependable, have reliable transportation and telephone, able to operate in a fast-paced environment.

You must be willing to learn all positions of the restaurant.

You must be able to work weekends and holidays, including Christmas.

You must have knowledge/experience using email and Microsoft Excel and Word, solid communication, math, and leadership skills, and pass a drug test.

The Shift Manager will utilize the support of the Owner GM, the Asst. General Manager and the corporate office (Accounting, Human Resources, IT, Payroll and Compliance) who will provide adequate training, goal setting, planning, organizing, and communication.

You will work an average of 48-50 hours/week; and will most often have 2 days off per week.

Previous restaurant management, preferably fast casual, experience is required.

Mexican food experience is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
