General Summary:
The Lawn and Garden Sales Associate is responsible for engaging and assisting customers in our indoor and outdoor Lawn and Garden section. This includes, but not limited to, sharing knowledge of herbs, flowers, and some landscaping techniques as well as merchandising, maintaining, and stocking product and live goods. The Lawn and Garden Sales Associate will also be responsible for register transactions of merchandise and live goods.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements:
Customer Service

• Project a positive representation of Wexford Ace Hardware.
• Greet customers entering and throughout the store.
• Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
• Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously, and effectively.
• Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
• Continually build product knowledge base and assist customers with store layout and product location.
• Assist in pricing, stocking, marking, and bagging of merchandise.

Register Operations

• Follow all cash register transaction procedures.
• Responsible for balancing of register drawer.
• Adhere to any Store promotions that may require implementation in the Lawn and Garden

department.

• Participate in store meetings.

Store Appearance and Upkeep

• Keep the store and stock room, including checkout areas, assigned department, and entrance doors,

neat and clean at all times.

• Assist with keeping the Lawn and Garden department stocked with merchandise.
• Respond for cart pickups when necessary.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High School or GED equivalent.
• Sales experience preferred, but not required.
• A commitment to service, excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
• Continually build product knowledge base and assist customers with store layout and product

location.

• Assist in pricing, stocking, marking, and bagging of merchandise and live goods.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
• Move and handle boxes of merchandise and be able to lift 50 pounds.
