POSITION INFORMATION:
Under the direct supervision of the Service Manager, technicians are responsible for performing basic vehicle maintenance work as assigned and in accordance with dealer and factory standards.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform basic functions such as: oil changes, tire rotations, multi-point inspections, replace wiper blades, etc as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy
• Communicate effectively with service team and assigned service advisor regarding the status and any changes to repair order the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required
• Establish a finished product which adheres to factory and dealership procedures
• Communicate with service advisor to obtain needed parts
• Maintaining work area in a clean and orderly manner
• Operate all equipment in service area in a safe manner
• Documents all work performed as soon as the job is completed
• Uses basic mathematical skills
• Use All Data software to assist with the repair process and estimating
• Understands and follows federal, state and local regulations such as the disposal of hazardous wastes

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous work experience as a lube technician preferred
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record preferred
• Basic tool set preferred but not required
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a physically demanding position. Will stand eight or so hours per shift. Will lift parts weighing in excess of 70 pounds several times during each shift and use hoist and test equipment as needed. Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, and feel. They will use hand and power tools. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Road-testing of vehicles may be required. The technician will be required to wear a dealership uniform when working at all times.
