Job Description:

Works as a liaison to resolve complaints and grievances in an effort to improve patient satisfaction through patient and customer relations.

Shift Details:

  • 4-10 hour shifts, Monday-Thursday, 10:30am - 9:00pm
  • 1 rotating weekend per month.
  • Training will be 6-8 weeks, Mon-Fri 8:00 am- 4:30pm.

Job Essentials:

  • Investigate laboratory situations to gather facts necessary for appropriate decision making.
  • Actively participates in problem identification, documentation, and resolution.
  • Receives incoming calls, resolves problems for patients or customers as appropriate and completes necessary documentation in the Laboratory and Event System.
  • Prepares and releases samples for the medical examiner’s office, donor services, and law enforcement, etc.
  • Works to resolve complaints or problems in a manner fair to the hospital/facility and to the patient.
  • Responsible for timely follow up with the patient/family.
  • Answers phones and directs calls as needed.
  • Cancels, credits, and modifies testing following outlined process.
  • Researches reference laboratory testing requirements, collection and stability, as well as ordering, monitoring and resulting.
  • Uses advanced skills to assist employees in difficult processing situations (phone calls, auditing of errors, missing samples)


Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year clinical/healthcare experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year laboratory experience.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of applicable tracking software.
  • Computer skills.
  • Provide notary services.

  • Carrying, Hearing/listening, Manual Dexterity, Seeing, Sitting, Standing, Speaking.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$18.02 - $26.13
