This position is an exciting and new opportunity that is currently part of Medtronic and will move to a to-be-named company we are calling “NewCo”. NewCo will be an independent company with equal partners, Medtronic & DaVita. It will be established in calendar 2023 as a new company (NewCo) formed from Medtronic’s Renal Care Solutions Operating Unit focused on providing innovative technologies to support kidney care patients. While you will start your employment with Medtronic, upon establishment of NewCo your employment will transfer to NewCo and you will no longer be employed by Medtronic.
NewCo is uniquely poised to transform renal care and dialysis, building on Medtronic’s innovation and technology pipeline. The business will have the singular focus, financial commitment, deep domain expertise, and global footprint needed to accelerate the development and commercialization of affordable and scalable life-saving renal care technologies — particularly our transformative home dialysis platform technologies.
Labeling Graphics Designer II
This position is responsible for designing and creating packaging, labeling and product artwork in support of all products produced by Newco. Must incorporate customer requirements and ensure standardization of artwork development in compliance with regulations and design standards.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the graphic design requirements for packaging and product artwork, including the production of labeling, lidstock, and display box artwork; support for formal artwork approvals; and maintenance of packaging labeling development procedures.
  • Conceives, designs, lays out, and coordinates editorial illustrations and creative artwork
  • Verifies vendor proofs, makes corrections or communicates changes to ensure all printed components match approved artwork files.
  • Effectively manages multiple projects, changes in project scope, and shifting priorities in order to maintain project requirements and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Works closely with internal company contacts to understand requirements, create cost efficient graphic designs, and ensure proper resolution to questions and issues that arise during the artwork development process.
  • Provide guidance on graphic technology
  • May provide guidance to entry level/Junior designer
Must Have: (Minimum Requirements)
  • Bachelor’s degree required with minimum of 2 years of graphic design experience
  • Or advance degree with 0 years of experience
Nice to Have
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient with design software, including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient in using both MAC and PC Operating Systems
  • Ability to work with department peers and middle management within the marketing, engineering, and manufacturing functional groups.
  • Ability to work independently to manage work, make design decisions, and meet timelines
  • Significant previous experience in graphic design production
  • Experience in development of labeling for the medical device industry
