Position Summary/Objective


Lab Manager is a hands-on role overseeing all areas of cannabis product production, from extraction to finished goods, to ensure that products are manufactured and packaged on schedule, within quality standards, meeting cost objectives and shipped on-time to the customer.


Responsibilities
:


  • Manage team and ensure manufacturing and production timelines are met
  • Ensure disciplined operation consistent with company policies, established standards, and best practices. Communicate development of new best practices to deploy amongst other production sites in the company.
  • Manage inventory levels of raw materials as well as final manufactured goods
  • Use projections to forecast sales and minimum inventory requirements for new retail openings and promotions
  • Coordinate routine inventory audits and maintain strict record keeping
  • Develop and reinforce standard operating procedures and department protocols
  • Ensure product is tested and verified to meet quality standards
  • Identify, classify, and report any deviations
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Effectively communicate with other functional area to achieve business objectives
  • Maintain latest up-to-date industry knowledge on processing methods and capabilities
  • Ability to travel to other operating sites as needed.


Qualifications
:


Required Experience, Education and Skills


  • Hydrocarbon experience required - specifically live resin
  • Distillation experience required
  • Solventless experience nice to have
  • Technologically literate, ability to understand software systems quickly
  • Cultivation experience nice to have
  • Passion for cannabis extraction & products - strong opinions preferred
  • Technically savvy, ability to understand & troubleshoot complex mechanical equipment
  • Familiarity with analytical equipment - HPLC, GC, MS
  • Ability to build, develop & mentor team
  • Familiarity with safety practices, cGMP requirements and ISO quality standards
  • Must be able to meet production standards in a fast-paced work environment with ability to troubleshoot
  • High degree of attention to detail and self-directed
  • High degree of integrity and strong work ethic

Other Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older to apply
  • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
  • Extended time sitting, walking, bending, and reaching is possible
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for a distance of 100 feet
  • Must pass stringent background test requirements of Pennsylvania and Massachusetts


This position is classified as Exempt and is not eligible for overtime pay.
