Job Description

Main Purpose

Tradebe's Subsidiary, Norlite Corporation, operates two high-temperature rotary kilns that use recycled fuels and other recoverable products to produce a lightweight aggregate that is used in bridges, buildings, specialized fill, and growing media for green roofs. Norlite achieves 99.9995% destruction removal efficiency on the most difficult to incinerate organic materials. Processes are in place at Norlite to ensure the integrity of the waste storage tanks and kiln system. Operating conditions are constantly monitored to ensure that fuel is burned completely. In addition, emissions are carefully monitored, controlled and treated to prevent air pollution. Norlite sets the standard found in the new hazardous waste combustor MACT regulations for lightweight aggregate kilns.


Responsibilities:

  • Handles weekly and monthly sampling of tanks at the plant
  • Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual reporting
  • Maintaining inventory for all laboratory consumable, including tracking, ordering and receiving.
  • ELAP documentation and lot management as per the Quality assurance manual and relevant SOPs.
  • Work with Technical Director, QA officer and Laboratory, Environmental and Compliance Manager on relevant discussions on laboratory performances, audits, work flow, etc.
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science or related science (Needs at least 24 credits in chemistry)
  • 3+ years of experience with RCRA permitting and DOT regulations
  • Previous experience with NYS DOH ELAP regulations and NELAP Quality System requirements are also required
  • Previous experience with environmental sample analysis

Pay Range: $22 - $25
