Job Summary:


To lead the team to perform the required chemical and physical analysis on both the raw materials and the finished products of aluminum alloys and extrusions.


Job Responsibilities:

  • This leadership position requires you to perform all the duties of a Lab Analyst and the ability to safely lead the team, while delivering the required results to meet customer on time delivery.
  • Successful bidders will be accountable for all safety, health and environmental issues related to this position.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and reports physical & chemical properties of chemical analysis samples and finished extrusions in accordance with testing procedures and industry/customer required specifications.
  • Responsible for maintaining Sample flow through the Lab in most efficient manner and accountable for Lab Sampling Delivery on time.
  • Acts as a liaison between other mill departments to ensure testing is scheduled to ensure high customer on time delivery goals
  • Operates, maintains, performs preventive maintenance, and calibrates various types of laboratory equipment.
  • Maintains preparation and testing equipment, performs laboratory safety audits.
  • Performs other metallurgical tests as required to satisfy customer and company requirements.
  • Performs and assists with other Metallurgical testing as required to maintain on time delivery including the reworking of test failures, as needed.


Required Education/Experience:

  • Good mechanical aptitude to safely and efficiently operate equipment including testing equipment, band saw, milling machines, lathe, drill presses, hand tools, etc.
  • Good computer, mathematical, written, and problem-solving skills to accurately analyze and report all types of test results.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to lead a team of laboratory analysts to ensure timely testing of laboratory samples in the safest manner possible.
  • Previous Supervisory and/or Laboratory/Quality experience preferred. Associate degree or other post-secondary education preferred.
  • Must have good safety awareness and record.

This is a night shift position- 6:00 pm to 6:00 am on an EOWEO (Every Other WeekEnd Off) schedule.
