We are currently looking for a Kitchen Assistant. No late nights and every other weekend off!!! Ability to earn on the job training and grow into bigger dietary positions!
Oak Park Place is hiring for a Kitchen Assistant for our beautiful Madison location. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing organization, we are looking for someone who we can train and develop into a cook. Working in Healthcare offers a very stable and consistent work experience as we don't have seasonal swings and are less likely to experience slow downs or shut downs. We offer great growth opportunities and are looking for the right candidate that we can work with and grow into a future leader with Oak Park Place.
What you’ll be doing:
- Portion and serve food to facility residents
- Cook food according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, and number of portions to be served
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware
- Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of kitchen or food preparation
- Experience working with seniors is preferred
- Knowledge of sanitation rules
- Ability to understand recipes and calculate measurements
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Understanding or ability to learn the use of commercial kitchen equipment
