Job description
The Kansas City Public Library is an important hub in neighborhoods and in the Kansas City metro. The Library provides important access to not only books, but also meals and other resources. The Library VISTA Project’s Summer Associate Program will contribute to expanding the reach of services to youth, families, and community partners. In order to prevent summer learning loss and ensure that children and youth receive supplemental nutritional snacks, the Teen Services VISTA Summer Associate will expand the reach of the Summer Reading Program and other associated programs for both the Plaza Library and teens system-wide. The VISTA Summer Associate will expand the learning and engagement potential of teens through assisting with outreach efforts and programming.

Member Duties : In order to prevent summer learning loss, the VISTA Summer Associate will help increase the impact of the Summer Reading Program by serving as a Summer Reading ambassador at the Plaza Branch and for teens system-wide; assist with the planning, creation, delivery and evaluation of experiential learning activities related to the summer reading program; and engage in ongoing professional development.
