Junior Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Internship

The Waverly Group is currently offering 2-3 internship opportunities (part-time or full-time will be considered) to work with clients ages 2-13 in both school and in-office settings. Join a cohort of therapists for training with advanced opportunities in the field of early intervention for preschool to age eight, children with behavior, attention, and/or social challenges. Opportunities to work within our ABA clinic with young children with autism are also available. The Waverly Group offers valuable training opportunities, direct clinical responsibilities and the ability to join a dynamic and collaborative team working on the behalf of children and their families. This internship is for three - four months with the opportunity for full-time employment at the end of the internship.

The Waverly Group is a collaborative, multidisciplinary pediatric therapy center located in Old Greenwich, CT. We work with children, families and schools, providing support for behavioral, educational, psychological, speech and language, nutritional and occupational challenges. The Waverly Group prides itself on its dynamic team approach and seeks motivated, responsible, creative team players. Each hire will receive hands-on training and support from Waverly’s directors and founders.

Primary Responsibilities:

● Obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential: The Waverly Group will provide coursework and training enabling candidates to sit for certification examination and ongoing supervision to maintain credential.

● Opportunity to attend and learn about various areas of practice within the field of psychology, education, and related therapies.

● Provide 1:1 ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy in center and community preschool environments.

● Provide shadow support to successfully integrate children into typical settings.

● Implement and support development of individualized programs designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA)

● Collect and analyze data to monitor progress and effectiveness of teaching procedures with BCBAs and other team members.

● Communicate with additional team members and supervisors regularly.

● Create learning materials and stimuli to support children and families.

● Participate in bi-weekly RBT meetings with other clinicians.

● Participate in additional team meetings as requested.

● Assist BCBAs directly.

● Perform other job related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is the perfect opportunity for a recent graduate from college who is interested in pursuing social work and psychology.

● Bachelor's Degree or current enrollment in a degree seeking program, preferably in psychology, education, or related field.

● Experience with children.

● Experience in the field of special needs children is preferred, but not required.

● Laptop or personal electronic device for data collection.

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

● Ability to multitask and display flexibility.

● High ethical and professional standards.

● Enthusiasm for working with young children.

● Willingness to learn new clinical skills.

● Ability to work as a team player while also taking initiative is essential.

● Ability to receive and provide collaborative feedback to/from team members.
