Job description
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversee Accounting Department operations, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, credit and payroll
Oversee staff training programs and identify training needs
Duties/Responsibilities:
Analyze transactions and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Prepare budgets, financial projections and analysis
Maintain fixed asset accounting and schedules
Obtain financing for new fixed asset purchases
Perform reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
Oversee sales tax process for multiple states
Work with external auditors and provide needed information for the annual audit
File quarterly and annual reports to maintain business licenses
Facilitate annual business insurance renewal
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Maintain and enforce accounting policies and procedures for departmental functions and cross training purposes
Perform other related duties as necessary.

Excellent supervisory skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Advanced Excel skills
Proficient in accounting software
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Ability to maintain confidential information
Able to meet deadlines and have attention for details
Education and Experience:
Accounting or Finance degree and previous experience in construction accounting required
Minimum of 3 years' experience in management
Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
