Seeking a journalist or just a really good storyteller to help create content for an emerging, innovative cloud based software business's website that’s changing the way industries operate for the better. And by that, much, much better.

Description

More specifically, we’re seeking an inquisitive writer to learn and help tell our overall story and then speak our story to different industries so they can understand kind of in their own industry language. By that, you’ll work with the CEO to understand our business and how our software product in automated quoting (pricing / bill of material) gives such an amazing impact to any business. From there, you’ll go deeper and re-tell how our product can benefit a few select industries. By that, you’ll blend our general message of what our product does and why it’s so helpful for business, but you’ll tell that story in context to how a certain industries’ quoting process works. Yes, that means you’ll have to learn a little bit about a certain industry’s quoting process to be able to explain to the audience our benefits to them. That’s okay. We’ll teach you. We’ll help you learn about a industry quoting process and if we don’t know it yet, we’ll ask you to do a little research to learn. We can help with that task as well.

On the surface, quoting is kind of a vanilla and bland business function, but in reality, quoting is really the central nerve system to an entire business. It touches just about every function of the business and without this process performing well, a business can be drowning in challenges so much that they’re not making as much revenue as they could or even worse, no longer profitable or are falling behind competition. When quoting is automated with our software, a company literally can be exponentially more profitable and one of the most competitive companies in their industry. We know that because that’s the kind of benefit we see with our customers who use our product.

If these first few projects go well, this could be the start to many other interesting projects where you’re helping to create our company’s voice. Other projects could be helping to write our story for a video or dare we say it, interactive conversations (we’ll explain later). Another project could be an explainer of how our own processes work. No matter what, we want to educate and be able to have our own single voice.

Type of Work

- This would be one writing project at first and if it goes well, we can continue working on new assignments each on a project basis

Qualifications

• You have some kind of background in writing, which could be in journalism, creative writing or heck even poetry. We’re open minded.
• You are a curious person and are good at asking questions to get to the heart of something. This will be needed as you’ll work with the CEO to dig deep and learn about the product and then for some select industries, you may go straight to the source and work with industry quoting professionals to learn a little about their process, what happens, how it goes, how do they do things.
• Lastly, the most simply said, but hardest of all, you have a passion to piece things together and help us build out our voice

Extra plus, but not required

• You already like the subject of business and the journey of businesses to grow
• You not only are a writer, but have a background in business or studied business yourself
