GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking an IT Systems Analyst to join our team. This position is full-time and will serve the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM in a hybrid capacity.



Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced level knowledge and skills in developing system requirements, specifications, and functional interfaces between system software components and the system-level design.
  • Advanced level knowledge of software configuration management best practices.
  • Knowledge of software design concepts, software maintenance, user documentation.
  • Knowledge of application software development lifecycle frameworks and methodologies and their related tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the software verification and validation processes, especially software testing that ensure that the requirements specification, design, and coding of software adequately fulfill all intended functions, with a preference towards knowledge of and experience with automated testing.
  • Knowledge of hardware and operating systems including system architectures, and network infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of Web-based technologies including Web page development and maintenance and Web-based tools and utilities.
  • Knowledge of hardware and software integration and testing, and software risk management.
  • Ability to review and understand end-to-end work processes.
  • Ability to translate technical terms to layperson's terms and present them to audiences outside of the technical team.
  • General knowledge of SQL, Oracle, Excel, Access, P6, MicroStrategy.

Uncleared - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Clearance

Overview:
  • Complex business problems to be solved with automated systems.
  • Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements.
  • Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements.
  • Designs details of automated systems.
  • May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems.
  • May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues.

Clearance & Citizenship Requirement:
  • To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance.
  • Due to the nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.

Desired Skills:
  • Program/Project Management background, desired.
  • Scheduling background, desired.
  • Active Q Clearance, desired.
  • HRP certified or ability to obtain HRP certification, desired.
  • General knowledge of LANL operations and activities to include weapons program activities, desired.

The NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons.
