IT Support Specialist

We are looking for a part-time IT Support Specialist to support our company's IT team in Bozeman, MT. Job Description

As an intern with Bozeman IT team, you will support Ascend day-to-day operations, both local and remote, including direct support for individual employees and their workstations in Windows and Microsoft Office environments as well as IT help desk issues.

We are seeking talented individuals with the flexibility to juggle many tasks at once and triage issues as they arise. We are looking for a team player that is also comfortable working on their own on projects and issues when needed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with onboarding of new employees and user training on PC applications
  • Set up, configure, and maintain Windows laptops
  • Identify and resolve PC hardware and software related failures and issues
  • Update inventory of PC's and manage software updates to remote PC's
  • Handles tasks for project installs and helps define project tasks and task completion times
  • Upgrade software components and install OS upgrades as required.
  • Troubleshoot difficult problems to resolution quickly and to industry standard best practices
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by direct manager

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows (10 & 11) and Microsoft Office products
  • Detailed understanding of Admin Portal for Microsoft Office 365 including Dynamics CRM (Customer Relationship Management)
  • Strong discipline working within a standardized ticketing system and documenting resolutions to those tickets
  • Technical documentation skills for company-facing how to and instructional processes
  • Discipline to follow established methodology while seeking ways to improve the process
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to interact at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, take initiative, and problem-solve with minimal supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Education & Work Experience

  • Two years of full-time work experience with a relevant post-secondary program certificate, OR
  • Working towards a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Science, or related field, OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Science, or related field, OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience with some formal training.

Compensation ($25/hour)

Negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Ascend highly values our employees and often pays above industry average.
