Job description
Our client is seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee the development of a student portal using AWS services and tools. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex projects, knowledge of AWS services and tools, and a strong understanding of the higher education sector.
The project will be in two phases:
Phase1: Infrastructure and Tech Stack setup, high-level design and look and feel, and Proof of Concept delivery of selected functionality
Phase 2: The completion of Portal 1.0 and go-live
Key Responsibilities:
Working closely with our 3rd-party implementation partner, develop a comprehensive project plan outlining the necessary resources, timelines, and milestones.
Develop a comprehensive project plan outlining the necessary resources, timelines, and milestones. Collaborate with vendor development partner PM, IT Technical Lead and SMEs.
Plan and execute the project plan from start to finish, ensuring it is completed within the given timeline, budget, and scope.
Work with the university's stakeholders to understand their requirements and expectations for the student portal.
Coordinate with the development team to ensure the project progresses according to plan and provide guidance and support as needed.
Oversee the testing and quality assurance processes to ensure the portal meets the university's requirements and standards.
Coordinate with the implementation partner and the university's IT department to integrate the student portal with existing systems.
Communicate regularly with stakeholders and project team members, providing updates on progress and addressing any issues or concerns that arise.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of experience managing complex IT projects, preferably in the higher education sector.
Knowledge of AWS services and tools, including but not limited to EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute and monitor complex projects.
Strong communication skills, including communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working in an Agile development environment is preferred.
AWS certification is a plus.
