BWXT is currently seeking an Inventory Control Technician for its Advanced Technologies location in Lynchburg, VA.

Job Description / Duties:

  • Provide accurate and complete shipping and receiving documents, including but not limited to, bill of ladings and shipping requests.
  • Use the FedEx online tool to create shipping labels and documents related to hazardous materials.
  • Support receiving, shipping and inventory control programs.
  • Enter inventory data into the inventory control program.
  • Support operations by assembling and distributing receipt inspection packages for received parts, materials and tools.
  • Provide backup support for receipt inspection results recording when necessary.
  • Maintain inventory and traceability of quality and non-quality parts as they are received and dispensed for use within the manufacturing areas.
  • Propose improvements to processes/methods.
  • Exercise judgement to identify and solve problems.
  • Responsible for scheduling shipments.
  • Responsible for scheduling pickups for parts, materials, tools, and scrap.
  • Provide additional support to the operations group and other departments as necessary.

Job Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A High School diploma is required. An Associate’s degree is preferred and may substitute for experience.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of related experience performing work in an operational, industrial or laboratory environment is required. Work within the nuclear industry is preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and handle multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues and problems by gathering information, pertinent facts and situational analysis to arrive at sound conclusions and take appropriate actions is required.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to use sound judgment and discretion when working with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Must have strong knowledge of and ability to use various applications to efficiently accomplish work.
  • Must have prior experience with Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, whichever is required.
