Inventory Control Analyst Position Summary: The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for material planning and inventory control processes for all LCEC warehouse facilities. This includes performing regular inventory analysis to ensure the availability of materials and oversite of the day-to-day inventory operations to include materials management records, documentation and data entry. The analyst works with the Warehouse Supervisor to make inventory stocking decisions based on warehouse constraints. The inventory analyst is also responsible for the cycle count program as well as scrap material contracts. This position will also assist in and/or lead process improvement projects relating to inventory controls.
Inventory Control Analyst Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize inventory levels at each material warehousing facility.
  • Work with purchasing agents to identify critical material items and establish vendor stocking agreements or LCEC’s vendor alliances.
  • Routinely review reorder reports for each warehouse facility and take the appropriate corrective action to address negative balances. Adjust reorder points based on the purchasing lead times, historical usage and forecasts. Assure that required materials are either transferred or requisitioned to the warehouse in need of materials.
  • Review material purchase lead times and work with purchasing agents to keep stock inventory at each warehouse facility and vendor facilities.
  • Routinely attend project planning meetings to produce material forecasts for routine stock requirements in addition to forecasting material requirements for future revenue and system improvements projects.
  • Analyze average use and spend reports to assist purchasing agents with bid preparations.
  • Analyze average use and spend reports to determine ABC class categories.
  • Audit cycle count results at each warehouse facility and provide training to warehouse staff as required.
  • Audit inventory transactions in the receiving, replenishment, warehouse stock to ensure the management of inventory at all levels of the supply chain.
  • Research and reconcile inventory transactions for work order variances for the closing process using the ERP system.
  • Prepare material requisition required for Construction Work Plan projects.
  • Receive/charge materials
  • Monitor usage and contact assigned employees on lack of activity
  • Schedule deliveries of materials to construction project job sites as required
  • Coordinate material acquisition by contract crews and LCEC crews at LCEC warehouse facilities and monitor material activity
  • Monitor and evaluate inventory and investment recovery processes
  • Verify that the inventory and investment recovery processes are functioning in the most efficient manner and the ERP system software is being utilized to its fullest capabilities.
  • Identify and control the disposal of obsolete and surplus material and equipment. Actively pursue new methods of disposal and identify potential buyers to generate revenue and avoid cost.
  • Follow established EPA rules, city and state regulations and guidelines governing regulated items.
  • Maintain inventory master file data to include identifying and adding new inventory master items, as needed
  • Maintain effective working relationships with vendors, customers and employees of all levels at LCEC
  • Ensure smooth operations, productive communications, and effective understanding during all interpersonal contacts. Provide current and accurate information to all requesters, courteously and in a timely manner

Inventory Control Analyst Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Logistics or Business Administration (Required) OR
  • Equivalent combination of progressive work experience, education and current related certification(s) (Required)

Experience:

  • 5+ to 7 Years experience in inventory control, supply chain, accounting, or warehouse with an ERP inventory system. (Required)
  • 2+ to 5 Years experience in inventory control, supply chain, accounting, or warehouse management with an ERP inventory system. (Required)
  • 5+ to 7 Years experience managing large dollar inventories, administering automated data collection activities dealing with barcode technology, administering cycle count activities, supply chain management and investment recovery systems. (Preferred)
  • Inventory experience in an electric distribution utility (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of all aspects of inventory control methods and practices (Required)
  • Ability to analyze and interpret material inventory reports and render sound decisions commensurate with responsibilities; (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to write reports, document technical procedures and manuals. (Required)
  • Ability to acquire working knowledge of the materials, equipment, supplies, and apparatus required for electric utility distribution construction, maintenance, and operation. (Required)
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite programs to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Ability to learn and utilize company software/computer system for material inventory and management. (Required)
  • Ability to communicate effectively while speaking and in writing; ability to listen actively (Required)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment and to accomplish established goals and meet deadlines. (Required)
  • Ability to maintain confidential information, and effectively manage stress and pressure in frequently changing environment, ability to multi-task calmly and effectively in all situations. (Required)
