Position Purpose

Key Responsibilities

Works under the direction of the radiologist and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide nursing care to patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations. Utilizes the nursing process to make continuing assessments of the patient’s total health needs; implements nursing interventions based on assessment data; develops and implements the nursing plan of care, and evaluates the patient’s response. Strives to provide excellent patient care with compassion, tact, cheerfulness, accuracy, patience, flexibility in scheduling, calmness in emergency, and ability to work well with team members, receiving and applying feedback from peers and superiors. Assists with orientation of new staff to the unit as requested.


Qualifications

  • Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate of a Nursing Diploma program
  • Licensure: Current and valid Arizona RN License or compact license
  • Certification: Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association and ACLS upon hire
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an RN or equivalent patient care experience

Interventional Radiology RN must be Able to complete Orientation Checklist consisting of: · Charge RN role · IR Clinic/Consult and follow up · Primary Call RN · Code leader role

Preferences
:
BSN is preferred. · Experience working in respective clinical area is desired. · Continuing education for Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred every two years. · CCU, ICU, or ED experience preferred. · Basic EKG competency upon hire


Preferences:

Education preferred from an accredited program for Nuclear Medicine Technology via ARRT or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist via NMTCB.

Exposure Category I: Expected duties have routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues


Work Requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK REQUIREMENTS: 1. Able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously. 2. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. 3. Able to manage technical business equipment i.e. phone, fax, computer etc. 4. Able to assist with the movement/manipulation of an adult patient weighing up to 300 lbs. 5. Able to care for patients with infectious diseases. 6. Able to sit for 3-5 hours per day; able to stand for 3-5 hours per day; able to walk for 3-5 hours day. 7. Able to lift equipment up to 50 lbs. and push equipment up to 150 lbs. 8. Able to analyze and apply theory to practice skills. 9. Concentration, visual and auditory acuity for watching monitors and following instructions during exams.
