Job Description

The Interim Manager of Labor & Delivery reports directly to the Unit Director while managing a team of 20+ FTEs, both staff level and Management. The L/D Manager, while reporting up to Unit Director, will oversee the team and hold responsibilities of the department at all times with the assistance of the Unit Supervisor. This Labor & Delivery specifically has multiple exam rooms, and an observation room and is open 24/7, 365 days a year. The L/D Manager will be thoroughly responsible for being sure each medical case is tended to as well as running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

• Night Shift: 11p-7:30a
• Recommends staffing levels as per professional organizations' staffing guidelines.
• Structures an adequate staffing mix of a competent personnel for all shifts by supervision and approving the development, preparation, and maintenance of staffing schedules that meet department/unit needs.
• Monitors all high-risk and complicated cases, ensures appropriate nursing interventions are implemented.
• Consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications

• Active RN Licensure upon hire
• Bachelor's Degree is highly preferred
• 3-5 years of Labor & Delivery leadership experience in a supervisory or management role
• Strong hands-on leadership capability, within a fast-paced environment at a growing healthcare facility
• Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to build strong physician relationships and hold staff accountable.
