Job description
- Gathering, collecting, and assessing intelligence related to security threats.
- Surveillance of designated groups.
- Monitor and identify Inmates who are seen associating with gang members. Interview and photograph all new arrivals.
- Complete paperwork/packets on inmates who are suspected to be involved in gang activity.
- Assist contraband staff in searching cells of suspected gang members.
- Monitor inmate phone calls.
- Complete all other tasks assigned by the statewide STG, coordinator, assistant statewide coordinator or STG analyst.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience in correctional, security or police work.
SCDC Minimum Requirements: (Or an accepted equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
Must be a us citizen, age 18 or over, have a high school diploma or GED & have a valid driver's license.Tattoos: must not be offensive and/or gang related or visibly located on the face or head. Tattoos on the neck will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Cannot have been convicted of a crime with a maximum allowable sentence of one year or more, or a fine of $1,000.
Must pass a physical exam administered by SCDC.
Must successfully complete the correctional officer basic certification course within first six (6) months of placement into the position.
