In this role: The Copywriter's focus will be on partnering with graphic designers/art directors and B2B marketing leaders to develop copy for company assets, collateral, blogs, thought leadership articles, email, ads and other campaigns.

At the same time, you may also be tapped to help conceptualize social posts, digital banners and landing pages using your copy as the voice of the company. The position can be remote, but we prefer Chicago-based.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for the copy and editing of marketing materials, website copy, blogs and emails to consumers, agents and partners.
  • Develops copy independently and works with the legal and compliance teams to ensure accuracy.
  • Supports the executive team and partners with Marketing, Product and Growth teams to create agent and partner-facing collateral, toolkits, presentations and support materials.
  • Assists with the creation and production of sales support materials including monthly

newsletters and lifecycle emails.

  • Writes concise messages to deliver via marketing automation.
  • Conceptualizes and develops creative across email, direct mail, social, digital, video, web and broadcast channels.
  • Writes and proofreads blog posts/articles about the services and products of our company.
  • Updates existing content and blogs on the company's web page.
  • Coordinates with designers for complementing messaging with graphics, charts, and images, as needed for presentations.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders on Thought Leadership articles.
  • Assists with basic SEO and keyword research and incorporates into blogs/articles/web copy.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for voice and message hierarchies related to customer engagement campaigns, acquisition campaigns, and new product launches.
  • Writes copy along the creative spectrum, from compelling campaign lines to clear instructional messages, across a range of print and digital deliverables
  • Manages workload, with little oversight, to ensure projects are completed within identified timelines.
  • Presents copy strategy and creative concepts to leadership.
  • Owns the audit and feedback loops with teams who create their own customer-facing copy, coaching and providing documentation that enables them to uphold our voice and brand standards.
  • Continue to evolve the voice of the next-generation insurance brand.

What do you need?

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Journalism or a relevant field
  • 3-5 years of experience, including copywriting in the insurance field is a must
  • Original copywriting samples
  • Experience working hand-in-hand with account managers as well as creatives/designers, understanding the creative workflow/processes.
  • Experience with MS Office, Google Docs and PowerPoint
  • Experience with a content management system (e.g. Square Space)
  • Ability to write product features/specifications in an informative and creative way
  • Familiar with social media marketing (e.g. FB, IG, LinkedIn)
  • Proficiency in English along with excellent writing and editing skills
  • Familiarity with both Chicago Manual of Style and AP Style.
  • Attention to detail and brand guidelines
  • Team player with strong verbal as well as written communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and work in Asana (or similar) task management system for approvals.
  • QC copy for accuracy and grammar and work with Legal and Compliance teams.
