FT Positions for the 22-23 School Year, Possibility for 23-24 School Year
Mt Scott Learning Center Portland, OR Grades 9-12

Mt Scott is a learning center specifically designed for high school students who benefit from a non-traditional learning environment. Two positions available to support teachers with math/science instruction and humanities instruction.

The Instructional aides will be responsible for working alongside students and teachers to deliver instruction and support. Every child deserves to reach their full potential and we are looking to hire exceptional instructors who will play an essential role in accelerating student success.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Provide classroom support to students and teachers.
  • Implement instructional supports, assess student progress, and execute other tasks as needed by students and teachers in a face-to-face school setting.
  • Participate in training sessions (facilitated by Catapult Learning and/or the school) to effectively deliver designated instructional models and strategies in readiness, reading, mathematics, and/or writing skills to students.
  • Understand and acclimate to the various teachers’ routines to provide optimal classroom support.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of material or skills introduced by the teacher.
  • Monitor and maintain documentation and records of students’ progress in accordance with the requirements of Catapult Learning and the school.
  • Assist with parent communication.
  • Support and document students’ growth and progress towards academic goals.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe academic learning environment for the student.

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or Higher
  • Experience working with students in a school setting
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and virtual meeting programs (Zoom, etc.)
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards students, administration, parents, and others

Details:

  • Position starts immediately
  • The school year ends in mid-June and starts again in September
  • Hourly rate: $23
  • Access to a robust suite of benefits
  • Work schedule (does not include paid training sessions): 6 hours per day

Additional Details

As a condition of employment, staff will be required to be either fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or produce a weekly negative Covid-19 test result. Prospective employees who are partially vaccinated (have received the first vaccination shot and are able to provide a photo of their vaccination card) are able to start work with the understanding they must be fully vaccinated within 45 days of their hire date and must test weekly until they are fully vaccinated.
