Position Description:Verifies conformance of vendor furnished parts and materials to plans and specifications
Works with production to ensure timely inspection functions per hold points, to complete the shop flow of the part(s)
Record findings for Visual, Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrate and Ultrasonics Testing on inspection reports
Read blueprints and engineering specifications to obtain product information such as specified material surface, dimensional and NDT requirements.
Measures dimensions, such as length, height, diameter, and distance, between reference points, using precision instruments.
Locate reference points on parts and measure dimension such as angle, arc, and radii Prepare inspection reports and welding logs.
Dimension inspection of component and assemblies
Inspect first run, in-process and final fabricated parts and assemblies
Set up and test equipment to ensure accuracy
Test hardness of workpiece surface using hardness testing machine
Prepare and maintain calibration records for welding machines and Inspection gages.
