Job description
The Inspector is responsible for inspecting materials/products for conformance to specifications and complete and maintain all required documentation. Provide inspection support and assistance to Radford operations as needed. Must be flexible to change as the priorities shift, must have the ability to multi-task.
This position will be joining the Kollmorgen team in Radford, VA. Kollmorgen is part of Altra (AIMC).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect parts as defined by the inspection procedures, inspect parts to ensure compliance to all specified requirements and complete the required documentation.
- Operation of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
- Ensure that DMRO's are written for all nonconforming material.
- Will be a flexible resource for other needs as directed
- Perform a First Article Inspection (FAI) in accordance with the written policy
- Perform ERP transactions using ERP system – Oracle database
- Plan daily work to prioritize work related activities
- Communicate and update daily matrix results to department, broader organization and as needed, to Customers or Suppliers
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Perform mechanical inspection techniques using a variety of inspection tools
- Perform inspection using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
- Machine technology degree or the equivalent skills derived from on the job training
- 3 years manufacturing experience, emphasis on mechanical measurement
- Must possess basic knowledge of arithmetic and the use of formulas
- Must be self-motivated and self-directed
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Computer knowledgeable
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lifting up to 50 pounds.
