We are looking for an Ink Technician for the 12 hour rotation. The work schedule is 7p-7a in a two week rotation. . The Ink Technician supplies and formulates inks and solvents to printing presses to produce a quality product and meet customer specifications.

  • Mixing and preparation of inks for production.

  • Accurate documentation of formula files.

  • Examine job orders to determine quantities, stock specification, colors or special printing instructions.

  • Verify the substrate and ink meet the specifications for a given job.

  • Color matching.

  • Monitor inventory levels on a regular basis, ordering or requesting additional supplies, as necessary.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Experience formulating inks for the printing industry.

  • Working with back lit color formulations.

  • Familiarity in using different types of color measurement tools.

  • Proficient in Excel and Word

  • High school degree, GED, or equivalent.
  • Additional Graphic Arts education a plus.
  • Color matching accuracy.
  • Numerical accuracy.
  • Organizational skills a must.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Mathematical skills a must, able to equate decimals and percentages.
  • Analytical and problem solving.
  • An understanding of various industry color measurement instruments.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical information and procedures.
