The Infrastructure Manager reports to the Director of IT and Security and is responsible for maintaining and overseeing network systems and design, performance and stability, and ensuring efficiency to support business functions and operations. The Infrastructure Manager will work closely with the System Engineers, Integrators, Hosted and Cloud Service Providers, and the Information Security Team to design operating systems, enhance network infrastructure, and conduct regular configuration to prevent downtimes and system failures. This Manager will also develop techniques to administer and maintain information security for network, servers, databases, and firewalls to avoid unauthorized access and data leaks. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and technical skills to set technical solutions to maximize the staff’s productivity and operational accuracy.


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:


  • Design and build a team, process, and technologies in order to achieve a highly functioning IT infrastructure.
  • Design and execute short plus long-term strategic plans to assure infrastructure capacity attains current and future needs.
  • Develop, execute and oversee procedures, policies and related training plans for project management and infrastructure administration.
  • Manage and establish priorities for maintenance, design, development and analysis of entire infrastructure systems inclusive of LANs, WANs, internet, security and wireless implementations.
  • Conduct research and recommend changes in services, products, protocols and standards to support development efforts and infrastructure procurement.
  • Supervise data center functioning; lead, direct and utilize knowledge on best practices in all areas related to infrastructure.
  • Define and manage IT Disaster Recovery Plan for the organization.
  • Define software and hardware standards in collaboration with stakeholders and owners.
  • Test server performance plus provide network performance metrics and statistics.
  • Report and prepare strategies to maintain server infrastructure.
  • Ensure apt security levels on network, infrastructure and servers are maintained.

-Oversee operational costs, conduct near- and long-term financial estimates for expanded functionality, scalability, and growth.

  • Build, manage, coach and mentor a team of infrastructure engineers and analysts.
  • Ensure IT asset management inclusive of component inventory maintenance and associated documentation.
  • Negotiate with outsourcers, vendors and contractors for infrastructure-specific products and services.
  • Perform feasibility studies for upgrade projects, conversions and enhancements.
  • Continuously improve IT Team response times via monitoring/alerting tools.
  • Problem solve during outages – drive your team toward a solution, author and drive Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) documentation.
  • Be a change champion – able to handle significant modifications with minimal ramp-up time and guidance.
  • Ensure security best practices, compliance with corporate policy, and remediate any needed compliance controls.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years implementing infrastructure solutions with an emphasis on automation and security.
  • 3+ years in managing infrastructure teams.

Deep Knowledge Of:


  • Operating systems and systems management (ex. Windows, OSX).
  • Data center, network, and production/operating application architectures.
  • Cloud deployments in Azure, AWS, Google and/or private cloud.
  • Scripting and development languages, including Python, Ruby, PERL, PHP.
  • High performance file systems.
  • High performance storage solutions.
  • Hosting virtualization technologies (ex. VMWare).
  • Production Security Systems (ex. key management, encryption, vulnerability management).

Demonstrated Abilities:


  • Experience with on-site and cloud-based computing infrastructures.
  • Experience leading design, build, and maintenance of end-to-end networks and cloud provider integrations.
  • Experience in working as part of a hybrid team that includes on-prem expertise and managed service providers.

OTHER QUALITIES WE’D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE:


  • Direct Experience supporting a Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with system management languages (e.g. Chef, Ansible).
  • Experience with Authentication toolsets such as Active Directory, LDAP, Ping Identity.
  • Resource planning experience.

The base pay range for this role is $125,000 to $165,000. Actual pay depends on various factors, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
