The Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) is seeking an organized and detail oriented person to serve as our Information Specialist. This position will be responsible for managing, storing, and communicating various informational items to internal and external stakeholders.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • assisting the Records Officer with the management and electronic storage of multiple records generated by the GOED;
  • managing an electronic document management system including scanning, labeling, and organizing loan files and financial information so that it can be quickly referenced and retrieved;
  • answering and responding to phone and email communication, tracking the questions and topics being asked, and developing standard messaging for a response;
  • updating policy and procedure documents as required to keep all information current and relevant;
  • assisting with GOED special events including database management.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office computer software applications – Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • business English, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation;
  • principles and procedures of filing and record keeping;
  • modern office equipment, practices and procedures.

Ability to:

  • organize work and set priorities in order to meet deadlines;
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public;
  • maintain records and prepare reports;
  • receive and respond to inquiries;
  • read and comprehend materials;
  • operate a variety of office equipment and software applications.

This position is exempt from the Civil Service Act.

This position is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
