The ideal applicant will have experience in our industry and will be responsible for generating sales within existing and new accounts. The Outside Sales Representative will deliver excellent customer service, provide quick and accurate information regarding our products and services and will have a willingness to learn our products and grow with the company.

OE Meyer Co has branches in Toledo, Fremont, Sandusky, Avon, Garfield Heights, Galion & Columbus.

Job Duties:

  • Provide quick and accurate product information to customers and upsell additional gas or welding supplies when possible
  • Frequent local travel to call on regular and prospective customers
  • Home every evening
  • Displays or demonstrates products, using samples or catalog
  • Prepares sales proposal by quoting pricing, credit terms, estimated date of delivery to customer based on knowledge of production/delivery schedules
  • Assists in collecting outstanding account balances (AR).
  • Monitors competition by gathering current relevant marketplace information including information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques
  • Works with inside sales and route drivers to keep accounts serviced efficiently
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with welding processes, equipment and deliveries
  • Maintains and submits sales reports (daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses) as required by the Sales Manager.
  • Attends trade shows.
  • Performs inside sales when needed
  • Assists with inventory
  • Comply with company safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • College graduate
  • Welding and/or compressed gas experience a plus
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Self-starter; self-motivated, ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational, analytical and planning skills
  • Computer and math skills
  • No DUI/DWI or other alcohol (driving) related convictions within the last 10 years.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
