DESCRIPTION
ALTA Language Services seeks a talented individual to join our Testing Department to develop and review reading and listening test content in the Indonesian language.
Please note that this is for a contract for which we are in the bidding process. The linguist will be expected to deliver accurate, high-quality documentation within a specific deadline and timeline. Paid training regarding the specifics of the development will be provided following the award of the contract.
- Develop reading and listening comprehension test content, as per development specifications provided by ALTA Project Managers.
- Work on a team of linguists to ensure quality of content across a bank of reading and listening comprehension test items.
- Provide review comments on items developed by other members of the linguist team.
SKILLS
Native speaker of the given target language as specified in the position title.
Excellent reading and listening comprehension skills in the target language.
Excellent writing skills in the target language.
Advanced communication skills in English.
Ability and desire to work collaboratively.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Professionalism.
Computer literacy.
Research skills.
Must have email access with the capability to send and receive attached files, and must be able to navigate the Internet.
EDUCATION/TRAINING
Degree: College degree required. Advanced degree in a language-related field is a plus.
Computer Knowledge: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Languages: Fluency in the target language is required. Ability to communicate in English is essential, as it will be the language used in training sessions and materials.
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in test development is preferred.
Experience using the target language in a professional capacity (writing, teaching, translation, interpretation, etc.) is required.
