The In-Home Therapy Clinician is an outreach position that provides high quality clinical service, family therapy, and collateral consultation to children and families.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

➢ Provides high quality community based care to children and families.

➢ Provides family therapy, crisis intervention and management, risk management/safety planning, care coordination, parent skill-building/behavior management training, and support based on sound clinical theories and principals.

➢ Demonstrates willingness and ability to treat challenging and diverse client populations.

➢ Provides services in children/family’s homes, health care clinics, schools, and other community settings as needed.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

➢ Provides comprehensive assessments inclusive of the CANS with interpretive summaries and recommendations based on sound clinical principles and judgment.

➢ Involves all pertinent family members and natural supports in treatment planning and care coordination as appropriate.

➢ Maintains a direct service productivity of 70% of available time.

➢ Provides comprehensive risk management/safety plans, and takes appropriate actions to keep clients and others safe.

➢ Demonstrates cultural competence in dealing with children and families with a variety of different cultural backgrounds.

➢ Demonstrates working knowledge of community resources, and how to help clients access them.

IHT Clinician - 2

➢ Completes paperwork related to services in timely manner and meets high quality standards.

➢ Submits progress notes within 24 hours of service delivery, or by 5:00pm the following business day.

➢ Completes routine assessments and treatment plans within the defined program specifications.

➢ Develops risk management/safety plans with children and families at intake and updates at discharge.

➢ Professional Skills - Conveys and responds to oral and written information effectively; recognizes when to consult with a supervisor, co-worker, or other affected parties prior to making a decision; has regular and punctual attendance at work, appointments, and meetings; integrates feedback and constructive criticism into practice.

➢ Technology Utilization - Proficient at using appropriate agency computer software and agency communication systems; understands the impact of technological changes on the organization and is open to technological change in the organization.

➢ Community Based Services – Strives to provide high quality community based care to all individuals.

➢ Time Management Skills – Adhere to program guidelines and specifications regarding clinical and administrative documentation.

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

➢ Master’s Degree in a mental health field required.

➢ Must be CANS-MA certified.

➢ Minimum of one year experience working with children, adolescents and families required.

➢ Must have broad knowledge of mental illness diagnoses, and diverse treatment techniques including family therapy.

➢ Must have familiarity with internet, word processing and email systems.

➢ Must be independently licensed or license eligible.
