Camp Pegasus is now hiring an Improv/Acting Specialist for summer 2023!
Camp Pegasus, a therapeutic social skills day camp for children ages 4-15 in Bryn Mawr, provides social skills therapy in a structured day camp setting for children with ADHD, autism, and learning differences.
The Improv/Acting Specialist provides structured and fun improv, acting, and team building activities. Improv/Acting Specialists provide structured improv and related games to help campers achieve a host of non-improv goals such as reading social cues, developing spontaneity and flexibility, using eyes to tune in to others, understanding others' perspective, teamwork, adjusting behavior to keep others comfortable, emotion awareness and regulation, and reciprocal conversation.
Hiring requirements include:
Completed at least two years of undergraduate education with a major in mental health, occupational therapy, speech, special education, drama, drama therapy, performing arts or similar field
Experience in facilitating structured group improv activities is required
Experience leading groups of children in dramatic productions a plus
Experience in childcare, teaching, camp counseling or leadership of children a plus
Experience with neurodiverse children a plus
