Purpose:

The Implementation and Planning Strategist (IPS) is accountable for Visual Initiative Rollout timing and scheduling, tracks project status and manages PO tracker for respective focus areas and serves as the liaison to the Finance Specialists. The Implementation and Planning Strategist (IPS)is also responsible for presenting Floor and Decor in a way that is unified, consistent and inspiring, while delivering timing and financial goals for the specific project, business, and/or space. The position requires the ability to drive cross functional engagements and partnerships to ensure a 360-degree approach to all visual merchandising initiatives.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in General Business or related field (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)
  • One to four years in one or more of the following areas: purchasing, buying, merchandising, brand management, marketing, store operations or related field
  • Account management experience a plus
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate to advanced level Excel required)
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develops and manages prototypes and fixture review process, including fixture documentation of the purpose of cataloguing all components
  • Responsible for keeping the Visual Standards Guide (VSG) up-to-date and available for store associate access to reference through collaboration with the Merchant/Buyer group, Human Resources, Store Operations/Safety, Merch Ops, NSVM, Creative/Marketing/Content, Design and the PRO Team
  • Partners with Finance Team to ensure financial objectives are being met by forecasting requirements, preparing budgets, scheduling expenditures and analyzing variances
  • Recaps and communication to be provided to appropriate, responsible cross-functional partners, including but limited to all updates regarding both current and future projects/initiatives
  • Implementation and Planning Strategist (VM) will track personal expenses and will code expenses properly, on time and within SOP Guidelines
  • Implementation and Planning Strategist (VM) will develop executable timelines to complete projects and communicate these to the Senior Director, VM
  • Responsible for providing updates necessary for their responsible portion of the CPAR Process for store projects and providing proper documentation to the Store Project Budget & Planning Manager for department and project roll up
  • Manages invoices (coding) as needed and tracks compliance to budget for all existing store projects responsible for
  • Execution Partnership
    • Liaison between Visual Merchandising & Execution Teams as Project Rollout schedules are developed while taking large projects into consideration
      • Determines maximum project counts per CR (Consolidated Reset)
      • Consults Visual Merchandising Managers on initiative priorities and potential project shifts
    • Partners with Execution team to capture set challenges and feedback to ensure consistency of initiatives in every store
      • Includes proof of concepts, site pre-walks, progress walks, etc.
  • Field Partnership
    • Supports store level inquires related to maintaining Visual Standards
    • Key partner on the Store Care to Share Committee
    • Extended arm of influence with the Field that captures feedback and images; supporting 2-way Communication Flow
    • Inventory allocation to suppliers for product needed for Visual Initiative Rollouts
    • Submits material transfer requests to inventory
    • Manages tracking distribution to impacted suppliers
    • Receives inventory systematically in MMS once supplier confirms receival

Working Conditions (travel & environment)

  • Limited travel required including air and car travel.
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet.
