We are partnering with our client to assist in their effort to hire an Impact Data Analyst. Our client provides equity and debt financing to established and emerging companies located in communities underserved by conventional sources of capital. Since 1992, they have invested roughly $2.0 billion in companies from a diverse array of industry sectors including manufacturing, technology, business services and agribusiness, among others. They have built a strong and successful track record of raising and deploying investment funds in conjunction with state/federal economic development initiatives. The firm seeks investments that have the potential to generate both superior investment returns and meaningful community impact and uses this double bottom line approach to measure its success.

The Impact Data Analyst will develop an extensive knowledge of a variety of businesses and business models, as well as a comprehensive understanding of the New Markets Tax Credit program. We are looking for candidates who are comfortable with quant-based analytics and have proficiency with Excel/Sheets modeling.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quantitative analysis of data sets, including past and prospective investment-related data
  • Research and compile insightful company, industry, and impact data
  • Acquire knowledge and expertise around both traditional investment parameters and company-specific impact metrics
  • Research community development alignment for specific investment opportunities
  • Prepare and analyze financial impact data for specific investment opportunities
  • Assist in underwriting investment opportunities, including financial and impact underwriting

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Math, or Finance related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial and data analysis
  • Proactive in identifying next steps, intellectually curious, and able to focus on both details and the big picture
  • Strong mathematics and analytical skills, with critical attention to detail and accuracy in work product
  • Interest in public policy and public-private investments
  • Strong computer skills, including formula proficiency in Excel, internet research, and task organization management
  • This position requires strong time management skills and the ability to multitask, and the flexibility to prioritize new opportunities as they arise
