Full Time, Monday through Friday, 37.5/hour Workweek / Starting at $13.00/hour

Position Type:
Full-time, Monday through Friday, daylight (37.5 hour workweek).


What to Expect:
TCV is currently seeking a dedicated and responsible person to fill our full-time Intellectual Disabilities Training Specialist role in the Homestead area.


The Training Specialist plays a critical role in fulfilling the mission of TCV by providing assistance and training to adults with mild to moderate disabilities. We are looking for people who believe in a strengths-based approach, and use positive practices to help guide their everyday activities. All required on the job training and education will be provided by TCV. The Training Specialist position is designed to:


  • Promote the health and safety of the adults served.
  • Implement goals and provide the supports as outlined in the ISP. (This may include personal hygiene skills, activities of daily living, community inclusion, volunteer placement, camping trips, vocational work crews, academic and recreational activities.)
  • Assist the adults in frequent outings in the community and going out to lunch.
  • Complete assigned paperwork.
  • Transport the persons served in TCV vehicles.

  • Prospective employees hired for a full time Training Specialist position will receive a $1,000 sign on bonus. The employee will receive the first third of the bonus after the successful completion of three (3) months of employment, the second third of the payment will be awarded after the successful completion of six (6) months of employment, and the final third will be awarded after achieving a "satisfactory" rating or higher on the annual performance evaluation.

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license & MVR history with three (3) years of driving experience.
  • PA state criminal history and child abuse record. (For those who have not been a resident of the Commonwealth of PA for the past two [2] years, an FBI clearance will also be required).
  • Previous experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities preferred but not required.
