Help make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children in Hampshire
The Hampshire Youth Offending Team (YOT) is a multi-disciplinary team which works with children aged 10 -18 years old who are at risk of offending or re-offending and subject to a range of community and custodial interventions.

For this age group this is now an integral part of their everyday lives, and it is in the best interest of a youth-serving organisation to have an online presence as well. Social media and other online platforms (such as an up-to-date website) can improve engagement with services by providing them with important information and messages or signposting to where they can receive youth-friendly services.

Additionally, having a social media presence can be seen as a sign of legitimacy and increases the awareness of the organisation, potentially resulting in greater engagement and participation. Our participation of young people is a target area within current our Youth Justice Plan. As a service we need to move to a position where we are actively involving our children in decision-making processes on issues that affect them. Children make invaluable contributions and as a service we need to create better processes to actively and consistently ensure that all children that we work with can participate fully.
