Job Title: Hydrotest Specialist

Location: Watford City, ND

Hydrotest Specialist is responsible for building work packages and test procedures based on client requirements, along with coordination of contractors and employees to perform hydrostatic testing of pipes, pipelines, and vessels in the oil and gas industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to perform hydrostatic testing to pressurize the system through the use of a liquid such as water.
  • Able to pressure test mission-critical in virtually all oil and gas instances not only to ensure safety, but also to maintain proper functioning of your equipment.
  • Ensure that any remaining defects are insignificant enough to allow operation at design pressures, expose possible leaks, and serve as a final validation of the integrity of the system.
  • Performs maintenance of equipment in the assigned locations to ensure efficient operations.
  • Conducts regular inspections of trucks and equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and properly and maintenance is done on a regular basis or as needed.
  • Prepares daily work tickets summarizing work performed, materials used, costs and charges etc.
  • Performs others duties assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
  • Must be able to occasionally work extended hours, including weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Must successfully pass pre- and post- employment drug and alcohol tests per company policy.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years related experience in hydrostatic testing.
  • Valid Driver’s License

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly from floor height to overhead and occasionally lift 75 or more pounds.
  • Must be able to work in an environment where exposure to loud noise, vibrations and bright lights, moving parts and rotating equipment is present.
  • Must be able to frequently bend, lift, climb, kneel, push, pull, sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must have good manual dexterity to perform daily tasks and operate machines.
  • Must have vision and hearing within normal range.
  • Must be able to deal with moderate levels of stress and/or stressful situations to respond to urgent situations.
  • Must be able to work in an environment where safety glasses, steel toe boots and ear plugs are required to be worn at all times.
  • Must be able to work in an environment of varying climates including warm, hot and cold temperatures.
