Job Coach Position: Part Time

Now hiring a part-time job coach to serve clients in the Ramsey county area!

Job coaching involves providing in-person support for clients with disabilities on-the-job to help them master their duties and build a network of natural supports in the workplace. Job coaches can accept and reject clients based on their availability in terms of timing, geographic location, and desired number of hours per week. Evening and weekend availability preferred but not required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• A good candidate for this role is inclusive, flexible, open-minded, and person-centered. They treat all people with respect using person-first language and strengths-based practices
• A good candidate for this role is punctual, has consistent attendance, and notifies supervisor and stakeholders of attendance changes
• Facilitate virtual and in-person meetings with a variety of stakeholders, including but not limited to: clients, parents/guardians, counselors, teachers, case managers
• Provide real-time feedback to clients in their workplace settings, including but not limited to: prompting, problem-solving together, role-playing social interactions, redirecting unprofessional behavior, demonstrating how to complete a task then providing the client with support and feedback when they try the task on their own
• Interact with client supervisors, managers, and coworkers to seek feedback, build natural supports, and problem-solve employment situations that arise
• Proactively collaborate with coworkers and supervisor to serve clients with complex needs
• Manage a caseload of clients, including schedule coordination, meeting facilitation, email and phone communication, and time management.
• Maintain client records in database
• Communicate professionally via phone, text message, and email communication
• Write and submit timely reports in compliance with company and state requirements; keep a detailed, professional written record of all client interactions – 20-30% of Job Coach’s time is spent on report writing and record keeping

Required Qualifications:

• The ability to be client-centered – focus on what our clients can do and shape experiences from that standpoint, always keeping their strengths, interests, and personal preferences in mind
• This role has a high degree of autonomy; it requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a work from home and/or community-based location where coworkers and supervisors are not on site
• Reliable internet connection for frequent virtual meetings
• The in-person component of the role requires having access to reliable transportation to visit clients
• Time management skills – ability to manage scheduling meetings with a caseload of clients and other stakeholders
• Navigate Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to: PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel
• High school diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with people with disabilities.
• Knowledge of 245D licensure, Vocational Rehabilitation Services, and/or disability waivers
• Two years of related work experience
• Starting at $20/ hour
