OVERVIEW

Provide journey-level mechanical and HVAC repairs, preventative maintenance, new construction work, and all other trade related tasks. Participate in mechanical and HVAC projects in partnership with other trade-specific teams in the Facilities & Maintenance department.

What would I be doing in this position?

  • Continually maintain and provide a safe and code compliant condition and operation of all HVAC/R and Mechanical systems inside and outside Santikos facilities
  • Know and comply with all aspects of electrical code, following strict adherence to Federal, State, and local laws, company policies, and department procedures/requirements at all times
  • Ensure all CMMS work orders are comprehensive and completed within expected intervals
  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, maintain, and test air conditioning systems, small and large refrigeration, ice machines, ventilation systems, kitchen equipment, concession equipment, water heaters, and boilers
  • Remove and replace small and large components safely, such as AC/R compressors, electromagnetic motors of different sizes, metering devices, contactors, transformers, fuses, thermostats, and other equipment
  • Perform successful preventative maintenance on all mechanical systems
  • Solder refrigeration joints and pipe refrigeration lines; conduct leak checking on work completed
  • Cut, fit, fabricate, and assemble a wide variety of articles, materials, and devices, including steel, copper, brass, and plastic
  • Safely follow common mechanical, building, plumbing and electrical codes, standards, and traditions
  • Maintain on-call responsibilities and schedule, including emergency calls
  • Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and sketches; construct, lay out or plan piping with respect to walls, structures, and other obstructions, allowing for expansion and contraction and alignment in accordance with manufacturer requirements and both state and local building/ mechanical code. Work with Manager/Supervisor to discuss any proposed project changes before construction
  • Detect and self-perform or communicate all needed repairs for buildings, grounds, and equipment, entering work orders and preventative maintenance goals into the CMMS system whenever required
  • Acquire quotes and develop estimates for repairs or installations
  • Load and unload heavy equipment
  • Assist with team lifting responsibilities and maintain roof cleanliness
  • Communicate with outside contractors, suppliers, team members, facility manager, and facility director
  • Know and comply with occupational health and safety (OSHA) regulations specific to the work and conduct on the job, including Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) instructions, Hazard Review Checklists (HRCs) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as require
  • Comply with all Santikos and Facilities Services policies and procedures. Support all management directives and the vision and values of Santikos Entertainment
  • Participate in and follow through with Santikos process improvement initiatives into internal work processes. Promote employee engagement in continuous improvements and innovation
  • Actively participate in meetings and training as scheduled
  • Provide excellent customer service through effective, courteous and professional interactions with clients, colleagues and the Santikos community
  • Maintain proper work attire or uniform at all times, in addition to company policy concerning appearance and grooming
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What education or experience do I need to have to qualify?

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years of journeyman/journeywoman-level work experience. Vocational training completion accepted in lieu of experience
  • EPA certified (Universal license is preferred)
  • Texas ACR Technician certification or license
  • Nate certification, OSHA certification, Hoshizaki certification, and Gold Medal certification preferred
  • Valid Texas state driver’s license or a license recognized as valid by the State of Texas
  • Reliable vehicle for regular local travel to and from geographically dispersed work sites
  • Incident-free driving record as documented by regular verification through Motor Vehicle reporting and on-board Company Vehicle GPS, camera, and/or other sensors and reporting

What skills, abilities, and knowledge do I need to be successful in this position?

  • Demonstrate understanding and experience in the handling of refrigeration specific tools and machinery such as, but not limited to: oxygen acetylene torch, vacuum pump, recovery unit, regulators, multi-meter, common hand tools, scale, etc.
  • Experience with mechanical maintenance procedures and practices
  • Strong personal integrity and trustworthiness
  • Ability to effectively handle stressful situations and changing priorities
  • Ability to anticipate, recognize and resolve problems
