Boulder County Human Resources Department is seeking to hire a Human Resources Technician. Boulder County Human Resources serves over 2,000 employees and their managers. We are a progressive and forward-thinking organization focused on equity and inclusion. We are looking for an individual interested in recruiting to join our team! The HR Recruiting Technician performs complex and specialized tasks related to recruitment, onboarding, and data collection. Primary duties include managing vacancies through the county's applicant tracking system, NeoGov, and supporting the hiring process. In addition, the technician provides administrative support to the human resources team.

This is a non-exempt (eligible for overtime), full-time position with a generous benefits package along with the added benefit of a hybrid working environment. You'll be expected to work five days a week, with flexibility around the core hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday. You will typically work onsite in beautiful downtown Boulder for an average of one day per week, while occasional travel to other work sites may be necessary.


Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.


Hiring Salary Range: $45,960.00 - $56,124.00 Annually

Tentative Hiring Timeline:

  • Phone Screening: May 19th
  • First Round Interviews: May 22nd
  • Language Proficiency Testing: May 24th
  • Reference Check: May 24th

Examples of Duties

  • Manage new hire onboarding virtually and in-person for all Boulder County new hires
  • Performs pre-hire checks, including submitting background checks and language testing; follows up once results are received, and logs and files each action
  • Works with various departments on seasonal hiring, sharing updated HR forms
  • Assists managers and supervisors with recruitment of personnel utilizing NeoGov recruitment software
  • Reviews personnel requisitions for position vacancies for recruitment of qualified applicants
  • Prepares and distributes job announcements and advertising for vacant positions for placement on appropriate media outlets and professional organizations
  • Maintains applicant tracking and notification system within NeoGov
  • Performs special Human Resources projects of complex administrative, technical or confidential nature
  • Performs administrative duties in the preparation, maintenance and processing of personnel documents and data
  • Assists applicants by providing information and answering inquiries related to applying for positions with the County
  • Assists the public and other County employees with inquires related to a wide range of Human Resources functions and directs them to the proper HR staff member, when necessary
  • Verifies the accuracy of various invoices related to stated functions and processes them for payment
  • Uses computer software and applications to complete projects and responsibilities
  • Arranges bilingual testing for applicants, when necessary
  • Occasionally assist with updates to the county's internal hiring webpages (SharePoint)
  • Creates training materials for recruitment and onboarding using various software programs (Adobe Captivate, etc.)
  • Performs related work, as required
  • May be reassigned in emergency situations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well-qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of a high school, diploma, or equivalent, plus at least four years of office experience.
