The Labor Relations Manager will administer and provide guidance, support, training and counsel to staff and managers in positive labor relations, compliance, policies & procedures, and other employment legal matters. Will work to find solutions that reduce risk, and ensure a fair, consistent approach to employee and labor relations practices. The responsibilities of this role are building collaborative inter and intra functional relationships to effectively manage, resolve and execute workplace investigations, consultations, mediations, and other employee and labor relations matters.

This position can be based out of Bismarck, ND; Gwinner, ND or West Fargo, ND. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.

The Qualified Candidate will have:

  • Location: Gwinner, Bismarck or West Fargo
  • Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • General HR Manager Experience Required: 1-3 years
  • Travel Required: 40-75% depending on specific site support needed. Competitive relocation package.
  • 3 years of labor relations experience in a union plant environment and an understanding of negotiation techniques preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of labor and employment laws. Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply applicable laws and policies.
  • Ability to develop and execute a proactive employee and labor relations strategy focused on building, leading change, and reinforcing a positive work environment.
  • Must possess great listening skills and general business acumen.
  • Must have the ability to remain tactful, calm, persuasive and build sustainable relationships with employees and union.
  • Ability to independently conduct a thorough and comprehensive investigation and strong mediation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Desire to assist in upgrading HR functions and processes.
  • PHR/SPHR Certificate preferred.
