Job description
We are seeking an additional Human Resources Business Partner to join our team as we continue to grow and expand here at R. J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC.
This position contributes to overall company performance by providing tactical and strategic consulting on people and organization development strategies in support of business objectives.
This individual will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: talent acquisition; employee relations; policy interpretation and application, performance and compensation management; and talent management. This individual may carry out additional responsibilities to include but not limited to employee development initiatives and training. Responsibilities
Performs talent acquisition for assigned client base. Prescreens candidate applications and resumes for required skills; experience and knowledge to fit position requirements. Makes referrals to hiring managers and ensures efficient turn-around activity.
Actively participates in recruitment campaigns; job fairs; general networking; etc. to ensure robust candidate pipeline.
Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with HR peers to develop solutions, programs and policies
Facilitates process of candidate selection; interviewing; job offer; and candidate on-boarding details.
Mentors managers on employee development best practices and provides HR policy guidance and interpretation
Coordinates HR efforts between departments
Participates in regular meetings with respective business units.
Remains current on trends and innovative recruiting techniques in order to compete in market and within industry.
Leads and/or supports annual HR cycle deliverables to include performance management specifically related to safety achievements
Supports internal employee investigations
Supports performance appraisal process
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Prepares and compiles reports for HR metrics.
Travel Required to Divisions for on-site visits - as needed
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
General knowledge of principles & practice of HR including employment law & compliance requirements
Proven knowledge of full life-cycle recruiting components to include sourcing; qualifying; networking; assessing; selling and wage/salary trends
Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to thrive in a demanding and rapidly changing environment
Ability to set high personal goals and work independently
Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues
Demonstrated project management skills
Background Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business-related field
One to three years of HR experience in both talent acquisition and in the HR Generalist capacity
Multi-site location client support experience a plus
Physical Requirements
Occasional lifting and carrying of office supplies weighing 15lbsto 20lbs
Able to push and pull with 10lbsof force, the amount of force required to open and close file drawers
Hand and finger dexterity for use of keyboard skills
Environmental Conditions
Performs most work in indoors office environment. Will make frequent visits to work sites both indoors and outdoors requiring the wearing of PPE.
Job Dimensions
