About the Role - 90% remote and can be based out of Las Vegas, Tempe or Hollywood
The HR Business Partner position is a highly influential and critical role that links the business and HR Operations together and ensures an exceptional employee experience. It requires a highly communicative individual with exceptional interpersonal skills and a level of awareness that stands out amongst peers. A strong and capable HRBP will be possess the competence and gravitas to operate at strategic, tactical and operational level and to move seamlessly from one to the other as the business demands.
What you’ll be doing...
Strategic Business Support

  • Operates as a member of the leadership team to align HR strategy to business strategy and decisions
  • Acts as a change agent; designs and supports change programs across the business
  • Is a trusted advisor on people related initiatives and concerns

Relationship management

  • Provides advice and guidance to leadership regarding people priorities and the achievement of business objectives
  • Escalates service issues and feedback to HR Hub

People strategy delivery

  • Develops and executes the Get, Grow, Keep strategy
  • Supports the design and roll out of HR initiatives and projects across the business
  • Analyses trends and metrics to proactively develop and implement initiatives or programs and to identify and prioritize opportunities and threats

Organizational Design

  • Partners with the business in department design, structure and roles

Engagement

  • Recommends and delivers ad-hoc engagement activities to meet business need and deliver the HR strategy
  • Analyses annual employee engagement survey and other forms of employee feedback data to identify and prioritize opportunities and threats
  • Tracks and reports out activities and results

Talent and Development

  • Supports the talent & development strategy for the business
  • Provides guidance and input on workforce planning, succession planning and top talent development
  • Delivers site specific, NA and Group training events (non-technical) across the business
  • Educates and directs employees to the People Portal Learning module
  • Drives the culture of learning

Recruitment

  • Works with the business to define and develop a workforce plan
  • Partners with the Hub to define the Get strategy for the business and ensures synergies across NA are leveraged
  • Supports recruitment requiring local support utilizing the Hub for administrative support
  • Identifies local partners/sources that support the business’s “Get” strategy
  • Develops and grows a targeted network of local contacts and community opportunities

Onboarding

  • Manages and delivers induction/orientation sessions where onsite support is required
  • Ensures ongoing and consistent engagement with new starters to enhance retention

Operational HR support

  • Manages employee relations concerns requiring local HR support
  • Promotes effective use of HR systems and the Hub

Compliance

  • Ensures HR policies and processes are managed and followed compliantly, providing strong

guidance to Leads, Supervisors and Managers to ensure compliance with Federal and State
Laws

  • Conducts audits as necessary
  • Identifies risk and ensures timely resolution
  • Supports HSS, Profit Protection and corporate related audits conducted upon request

This position requires strong problem solving skills; has experience in addressing complex employee relations issues; effective communication with employees at multiple levels across the organization; and has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
1. Facilitates and leads training courses on employee relations subject matters.
2. Collaborates with People Support Hub on human resources policies, procedures, and programs.
3. Ensures all required postings are up to date and in compliance.
4. Works closely with the Health and Safety/First Aid team on employee work restrictions and accommodations.
5. Develops and supports localized engagement strategy for attractions under their responsibility
6. Drives project development to support the business in accordance with our Merlin Values.
About You

  • 4+ years of progressive HR generalist experience. 1+ years HRBP experience preferred.
  • Possess the ability and willingness to connect with all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to work in a high change and growth environment
  • Capable to work independently on various assignments simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with department heads, managers, employees, and vendors to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
  • Must be willing to learn CA employment law and proactive in distributing and learning updates to the law
  • A high level of attention to detail and confidentiality is essential
  • Must be able to present a professional image, utilize sound judgment, discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Organized and detail oriented
