Job Description


RockCreek seeks a Human Resource Generalist to help foster a culture of engagement and build a collaborative and effective team. The primary role is to ensure our team members at all levels are supported. The Human Resource Generalist will also partner with and be a strategic guide to our leadership team to drive people strategy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Advise the leadership team on organizational development, hiring and performance management
  • Create and implement strategies to attract, engage and retain a diverse and talented workforce
  • Help foster a culture of ownership, engagement, trust, and collaboration
  • Oversee a variety of human capital matters, including recruitment process, new team member programs (onboarding, orientation, training, etc.), team member development (coaching, continuing education, etc.) and day to day matters
  • Proactively assess team member development needs, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions
  • Handle employment-related inquiries

with appropriate sensitivity and discretion.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; propose and review policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Negotiate with vendors, including benefit providers and recommend options
  • Stay current on knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment matters
  • Oversee payroll processing for multi-state employees and develop payroll best practices, guidelines and procedures
  • Support accounting for all payroll related journal entries during month end close
  • Verify and analyze W2-s prior to distribution

Qualifications


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Background as a Human Resources professional with the necessary Human Resources related work experience
  • Strong relationship building skills with ability to influence and communicate effectively across all levels of an organization
  • Understanding of various employment laws and their impact on day-to-day matters
  • Ability to think creatively and roll up your sleeves
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Excellent demeanor, sensitivity, and diplomacy
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the flexibility to adapt policies as may be required
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Proficiency with various HR and payroll related systems and services
