Position Summary
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Human Resources department including but not limited to: assisting with onboarding of new employees, providing primary office and phone coverage, coordination of various mass mailings, date stamping and daily mail sorting/delivery within the department, as well as tracking and managing corporate logistics requirements.
Essential Functions of the Position
- Update employee records with new hire information and/or changes in employment status
- Prepare new employee files
- Maintain organizational charts
- Implement HR policies throughout the organization
- Process employees' queries and respond in a timely manner
- Maintain recruitment database (Indeed, ZipRecruiter, ADP)
- Review files for completion
- Complete I-9s and verify that they have been submitted in a timely manner
- Answer telephones and be the first line of communication for the HR department
- Compiles and prepares data for statistical reports, including EEO and VETs 4212
- Ensure that all benefits information has been submitted and received by the Human Resources Department in a timely manner
- Composes and/or types various department memos, letters, reports, statistical data
- Files documents into appropriate employee files
- Sorts and distributes incoming mail
- Assist with the planning of employee engagement activities such as the holiday parties and other company events.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School/GED.
- Demonstrated efficiency with process driven responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word
- Strong data entry skills
- Strong oral and written skills.
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate professionally with a variety of personalities and skill levels.
- Able to quickly learn and apply the knowledge of new systems, processes, and software
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
