Position Description:


The Human Resources Specialist - Global Operations will provide Human Resource (HR) generalist support/guidance to assigned Global Operations client group(s), while also leading and owning key HR programs, processes, and initiatives in support of the overall objectives of the Global Operations & Technology (GOT) organization. The HR Specialist will be responsible for providing day-to-day HR support, including staffing, performance management, and talent development efforts across assigned client group(s), while assisting with the management of competency development programs, facilitating associate engagement activities, providing ownership and coordination of the co-op/intern program(s), supporting the Global Operations leadership development programs (GMLP/PMDP/QLDP), and managing the associate and new leader on-boarding processes.
In addition, the HR Specialist will be the primary contact for initiatives across GOT aimed at improving and enhancing associate engagement and recognition through internal efforts and external professional/industry awards, supporting associate and organizational development initiatives, partnering with the Talent Team on cyclical performance management activities that drive consistency and accountability, as well as leading various initiatives related to Talent Acquisition and University Relations.
The associate will also collaborate regularly with regional and global HR business partners to accomplish the initiatives and tasks listed above.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day HR support to assigned client group(s) including, coaching, feedback, performance management, employee relations, benefits, staffing, etc.

  • Lead key HR processes in support of the overall objectives for designated client group(s), including, organization and talent reviews, performance management/alignment, engagement activities, competency/capability development, etc.

  • Provide coaching/consultation to client groups, regarding employee relations and HR issues. Partners closely with Legal and leadership to ensure appropriate steps are taken to support business needs, while adhering to all Goodyear policies and state/federal laws.

  • Lead various initiatives related to Talent Acquisition, including managing requisition approval process, interviewing candidates, participating in de-brief sessions, creating job offers and extending offers.

  • Partner with the University Relations/Early Talent teams, Global Operations leaders, and HRBPs in the management of the Global Operations Co-Op/Intern program - Ensuring that the program is able to attract college students of the highest caliber and truly operate as a robust talent pipeline, in tandem with workforce needs and business strategies around Diversity and Inclusion

  • Partner with the GOT Talent team and offer assistance with leadership development programs, associate trainings tracking, data analysis on annual performance review, employee engagement focus group coordination/logistics, and providing additional support to various talent related initiatives across GOT.

  • Collaborate with HR Managers on process improvement efforts and simplification efforts. Continuously analyze talent programs for effectiveness, efficiencies and intersections.

  • Assist with the facilitation, coordination, and logistics of function-specific talent-related initiatives, i.e. mentoring circles, competency assessment and development programs, etc.

  • Primary point of contact to manage key cyclical initiatives/programs across Global Operations aimed at improving/enhancing employee engagement and recognition, including external/industry professional awards programs (Women Make America Award, Woman of Color Award, Black Engineer of the Year Award), and other internal recognition efforts sponsored by Goodyear.


Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business/Finance, Psychology, Education, or a related field

  • Minimum 3 years HR experience responsible for core Human Resources processes, 5 years’ experience desired

  • Experience in talent acquisition processes

  • Experience in managing small projects using project management tools/methods - Desired

  • Experience with data analysis and tracking of Human Resources processes

  • Knowledge of HR systems (compliance, compensation, training, recruiting/staffing, performance management, etc.)
